2005 La Crema Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast
Last weekend, I enjoyed drinking La Crema at the Paint the Town event - though I couldn’t tell you which of their Pinot Noirs I was drinking. However, I was inspired to drink the bottle we had in our cellar, a 2005 Sonoma Coast Pinot. Knowing our good friends the Duttons were cooking salmon, we opened up a bottle. I love pairing the light red of a Pinot Noir with salmon - just seems to fit really well together.
This wine was extremely easy to drink, light and fruity. I actually liked the one I had during the event a little better - shame I don’t know which one it was - but this was very enjoyable. Not very complex, yet a good example of a Pinot Noir. For around $20, it is affordable enough I’d recommend trying it yourself if you like Pinots. If you like heavier reds, this is not the wine for you.
